Our downsizing workshops with Ranka answer that question very well, and they have been tremendously popular. We’ve confirmed another downsizing workshop on February 19th. At the workshop, Ranka will walk you through everything you need to know to make your downsizing experience as seamless as possible. So you can get on with living.

A Luminous Evening

Children’s Hospital Gala

We believe in Tsawwassen – and in the future of BC. That’s why we support the community where we can. The BC Children’s Hospital is about as worthy a cause as you’ll find. We are proud to help kids get another chance in this world. The event is always positively luminous. Keep your eye on the website for photos from the Gala. Here’s to another great year of giving back to this community with pride.

Working Through the Winter

Construction Update

The colder weather we’ve been experiencing hasn’t hampered our efforts on the site. We’re happy to report that construction has been advancing steadily through the New Year. We are continuing the site servicing and getting the lots ready for foundations, and 90% of the horizontal tiebacks to the geo-exchange system are now complete. Meanwhile, excavators and trucks are busy clearing and preloading the location of the new café and neighbourhood store, driving range and tennis court. At this point, all our crews are eagerly awaiting permits and will commence our foundation work as soon as they are released. It’s just a matter of time now, and we’re all set to have a very good spring here. This place takes shape by the day!

Strong Community Building

Tsawwassen First Nation Update

Tsawwassen is not the closely-guarded secret it once was. Clearly, people have come to appreciate the ideal location, sunnier climate, and close-knit community feeling that define this place. (That’s why real estate is such a solid investment here.) When the world wakes up to a great place, that place is bound to evolve and grow. The great thing about Tsawwassen is that, even as it grows, the elements that have always made it such a wonderful home – an intimate feel, a quiet vibe, an ideal natural location – abide through it all, and remain strong. That’s what makes a great community like this one endure.

The Tsawwassen First Nations development – known as Tsawwassen Mills – is a big step forward for Tsawwassen. It is a tremendous opportunity, both for the Tsawwassen First Nations, and for Tsawwassen as a community. The current plan is for an indoor mall with

17 retailers over 1.2 million square feet, as well as three other retailers on another 600,000 square feet. It also includes plans for a major cinema and entertainment complex, office space, a hotel, and millions of dollars worth of highway infrastructure upgrades.

Two accomplished Canadian partners are leading the project. Ivanhoe Cambridge is an iconic Canadian retail company, and one of the top-10 real estate companies in the world. Property Development Group, meanwhile, is Western Canada’s premier retail development authority, and has built stunning retail properties across the world. For both companies, a huge component of their success has been their ability to create properties uniquely suited to the communities in which they arise. Tsawwassen Mills will be no exception.

The project is incredibly meaningful for the Tsawwassen First Nations. This landmark development will allow them to take control of their destiny, and truly provide for their extended family, their children, and the future of their community.

For Tsawwassen as a whole, meanwhile, it represents much needed retail and amenities. Ultimately, it’s just one more great reason to call this place home – another reason to be fully confident in your investment in this sunny little corner of the world.

Investing in our Future

New Southpointe Academy

Southpointe Academy is an independent Tsawwassen primary and high school that has always been a jewel of this community. Now they are moving into a bright, beautiful new home. It’s always hard to move into a new space, but the new Southpointe campus looks absolutely fabulous. The new campus, located just across 56th Street from the old school, is 68,000 square feet, and will be home to 575 primary school students. It includes an advanced communications infrastructure, a fitness centre, and a performance theatre.

What better way to invest in the future of our children? We are very excited to have one of the top schools in the Lower Mainland in our backyard.  Opening ceremonies for the new school will take place on February 9th. Don’t miss it.

2011 – The Year In Review at the Sales Centre

We had a lot to be happy about in 2011. Here are a few highlights of some of the events we held during the year at Tsawwassen Springs.

Downsizing Workshop with Ranka Burzan

Many of us are excited to simplify our lives with a smaller home. But downsizing can be very challenging. So we brought Ranka Burzan, an expert on streamlining, de-cluttering, and organizing, to make the whole prospect a bit less daunting.

Walk the Golf Course With Ted Locke, Golf Course Architect

Ted Locke took great care in designing the Tsawwassen Springs golf course. Designed in accordance with the requirements of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, the course displays great sensitivity to the natural environment. A natural and elegant evolution of golf course design, the course is remarkably accessible to players of all levels, but remains challenging to the lower handicap golfers amongst us. We wanted to hear all of this directly from Ted, so we asked him to walk the course with us. It only makes us even more excited to play the course when it opens in 2012.

Pre-Construction Workshop

Buying pre-construction property can be scary. We know that. But we were confident with our product. We wanted all of our buyers to feel that they were approaching this decision fully informed. So we staged an objective, informative workshop to fill you in on exactly what you should be looking for in a pre-construction purchase. Response to the workshop was terrific.

Grand Opening and our first Press Conference

These events were held in May, 2011 to kick off the community. Wow, does that feel like a long time ago. Visit our website to see video’s from those events.

Due to popular demand we will be repeating many of our workshops in early 2012. Stay tuned!

Eagle Eye View

Watch Our Live Web Cam

It can be hard to believe that we get so much more sun than other areas of the Lower Mainland, but it’s true. Skeptical? Then check in with our live cam right here on our website, by clicking here. You’ll see what we mean when we say this is a sunny pocket in this region. (And you’ll also get a flavour for what this place feels like in the day to day!)
