We thought it might be worthwhile to take a look at some of the highlights of this past year. There were plenty.

1st year highlights:

As of today, there are currently 52 occupied homes at Tsawwassen Springs

We have sold over 120 Homes

- 37 houses under construction

- 6000 people have visited our community

- 550 people attended our Grand opening

- The brand new golf course is opening for our preview year this summer

Number of Geo-exchange loops drilled to date

- 88 loopholes drilled for Phase 2: 5055 Springs Boulevard

- 57 loopholes drilled for Phase 1: 5099 Springs Boulevard

- 76 loopholes drilled for the houses: 2 per lot

We’ve held 21 events (at least!) at our Sales Centre

- Tsawwassen Springs hosted a movie night – most attended in history!

- We’ve served 700 hamburgers (give or take a few) here on site

We’ve shot 13 videos of the community, the team, the homes, the golf course, and our landmark events.

12,300 people watched our Youtube videos.

Our initial press conference last spring, on May 12^th, was a gorgeous day, with lots of  excited people in attendance. Media gathered to hear MC Jackson Davies and featured speakers Ron Toigo, Bruce Allen, Pat Quinn, Michael Bublé and Councillor Bruce McDonald talk about why they believe in Tsawwassen Springs.

Tsawwassen Springs celebrated its Public Grand Opening on June 5^th. There was an Open House, a White Spot BBQ, golf putting competition, golf course tours, music and more. The team, including Ron Toigo, Ross Clouston and Phil Yee, were there and were joined by Murray Poje, the new Tsawwassen Springs Golf Pro. It was a tremendous start to a great summer.

It’s great to think about these positive beginning – and we can’t wait to see what will come next. Hope you will join us for the celebration on May 5th, 2012!

The Canadian Penny is being discontinued and Delta Hospital Foundation wants to get their ‘two cents worth’ before the penny is gone for good.

The Delta Hospital is calling on the community to make their pennies go a long way and drop off their one-cent coins at the foundation office or on May 5th at our 1-year Celebration! The pennies collected will go towards the purchase of a Triple Lumen IV Pump for the hospital.

“We’re hoping to collect 1 million pennies because $10,000 is what it would take to purchase a Triple Lumen IV Pump”, said Teresa Cooper, Delta Hospital Foundation Executive Director. “$10,000 in pennies is still $10,000 dollars”.

In complex cases at the hospital, patients may need more than one medication administered at once. The Triple Lumen IV Pump can administer up to three medications at a time with greater flexibility and puts less stress on the patient. With an increasing amount of patients seen at Delta Hospital with serious health issues, this pump will help our medical staff to continue providing the best healthcare to our community.

11:30am: We’ll talk about our User Pay Philosophy that keeps our strata fees at an extremely low rate. Learn how you can enjoy all the amenities yet pay low monthly maintenance fees. Join Sarah Toigo and Ross Clouston in the Sales Centre.

11:30am-1:30pm: The White Spot Truck will swing by with food and drinks for the day.

12:30pm: Join the golf course architect, Ted Locked when we’ll head out on the golf course, where we can see exactly how close we are to playing on these lush greens, and how the course is looking. Meet at the Sales Centre.

Ongoing Putting Contest: We’ll also have a putting contest hosted by Murray Poje, the new Tsawwassen Springs Golf Pro and Teresa Cooper from the Delta Hospital Foundation. We’ll have great prizes of course. Entry will be a donation to the Delta Hospital Foundation.

Celebrate our one-year anniversary with us

On May 5, Tsawwassen Springs celebrates one full year. It’s hard to believe, in a way – its gone by so quickly. And yet, so much has happened. One thing is certain: this has been an incredibly inspiring year at Tsawwassen Springs, and there is much to celebrate. So, in true Tsawwassen Springs fashion, we’re having a big party!

After opening its doors to the public one year ago Tsawwassen Springs is very proud to report we have sold 150 homes and welcomed many new Homeowners to the community. Not only have sales been busy this last year, but our Construction teams have made amazing progress on every element of the community, including the golf course which will open for a preview year this summer. You have to see it to believe it. 

On Saturday, May 5th, between 11 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. we will be having a One Year Celebration. Join us to walk the golf course, participate in our putting contest, enjoy a White Spot burger, and lots more.

This year, with so much positive progress happening at Tsawwassen Springs, the spring season feels brighter than ever. Construction is moving along beautifully on site, the flowers are blooming bright and brilliant, and the golf course is looking more inviting every week. Here’s a look at everything happening at Tsawwassen Springs this April, so you can get the jump on spring.

With the spring upon us, construction on the course has really begun to take shape – literally. The last remaining holes are now shaped and ready for seeding. Before long, every fairway will be gleaming with green. We know you share our excitement as we approach opening day for the new course.

Driving Range/Temporary Pro-Shop Area

We’ve been working hard on a great new driving range and temporary pro-shop facility.   Storm service and gas connections are now being completed in the parking area, and asphalt paving will begin the 3^rd week in April. Best of all, the driving range and temporary pro-shop will be ready in time for the Grand Opening of our new golf course, this August.

Construction Update

As we head into full-blown spring, construction is moving along at a very fast clip. Every aspect of the community is coming together.

Freestanding Homes

We’re making good progress above and below ground. Let’s start at the top. Framing has begun on the first two showhomes, and we’ve begun to stand up trusses for the roof (by the way, views from the 2nd floor are absolutely spectacular!) Meanwhile, we have completed the underground mechanical services and heating on lots 3 and 4 and will be pouring the concrete slab in the first week of April (by the time you read this, we’ll be already underway). Backfill is complete on lots 5 and 6, and mechanical services are now being installed. Meanwhile, on lots 7 through 14, we’re at various stages of excavation and foundations. In other words, everything is proceeding according to plan – just the way we like it.

Drilling Down to the Details

Our second condo building is coming along nicely as well. The vertical drilling for geo-exchange is full steam ahead, with 68 holes drilled to date. This drilling has been the main focus recently, and the process should be complete within the next two weeks.
